Freelance Digital Asset Management Administrator
Sesame Workshop is looking for a Digital Asset Management Administrator. The Digital Asset Management (DAM) Administrator is responsible for managing the lifecycle of all creative digital assets (images/photography, artwork, video, etc.) across the company with emphasis on capturing, tagging, organizing, distributing and archiving assets. The DAM administrator will regulate the influx of new digital assets into the DAM system. This role will also assist in setting up asset catalogs, organizing collections of promotional material, creating and maintaining relationships between assets, creating and enforcing naming taxonomies and metadata schema, tagging files with relevant and accurate metadata and ensuring dependable and traceable distribution to users, agencies and vendors. Finally, the DAM administrator will maintain documentation and generate reporting, as well as uphold processes and system training throughout the agency.
Reporting to Marketing Operations, the digital asset management (DAM) team strategically implements and manages the DAM tool, which will house all final creative assets.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in application of metadata standards to digital projects through consulting
• Develop documentation for DAM system management and training
• Perform microcomputer tasks as necessary for completion of job duties
• Assist with completion of division duties as necessary
• Coordinate management of electronic collections, including images, video, project files, logos, artwork, streaming media and databases with an emphasis on best practices in use of DAM systems
• Provide leadership and coordination for implementing the metadata standards for digital assets
• Lead planning, evaluation and implementation of metadata and asset management policies, standards, procedures and workflows
• Work closely with photography, video and creative services to develop and manage digital asset collections in all formats
• May participate in the development of digitization projects and/or collaborate on the management and preservation of digital collections
• Work actively as a subject matter expert on metadata and digital asset management in liaison with other functional units or business teams as assigned
• Contribute to committees, working groups and task forces for the DAM and actively participate in planning needs
Qualifications
• Master's degree, preferably in library and information science or equivalent, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2+ years experience working with and coordinating effective use of metadata in a digital asset management environment
• Experience applying current metadata standards to digital projects (text, image, video, audio) for access and dissemination via the web
• Working experience and knowledge of metadata schema's and best practices
• Working experience of taxonomy and knowledge organization
• Experience working in a large creative services organization
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workflows
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative in a changing environment
• Excellent analytical, communication, proactive problem solving and project management skills
Other
• Knowledge of NetX digital asset management system preferred
• Experience working in project management and/or studio production preferred
• Ability to communicate and work effectively as part of a team
• Highly motivated
• Ability to be flexible with work assignments and environments
• Ability to work independently and as a member or leader of a team
• Ability to adapt to rapid change and to exercise creativity
• Prior experience with asset rights management a plus
• Foreign language skills a plus
