Job Description
Sesame Workshop is hiring a Department Coordinator to support the Creative Development & Production Department and provide daily administrative support to the Sr. Director, Creative Development and VP/Head of Animation. We're looking for someone with enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and a detail-oriented mentality.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support including calendar management, travel arrangements, expense reports, and meeting preparation
• Perform necessary tasks for the department including file management, ordering supplies, invoice and contract administration, and organizing meetings
• Interact extensively across all departments, and with outside creators and producers
• Assist in preparing pitch materials and decks for meetings and presentations
• Assist creative development workflow, including tracking writing samples, pitches, and creative material; compiling notes and feedback; and managing project timelines
• Monitor animation projects' process timelines and notes gathering at all stages of production; coordinate with animation producers for reviews of needed materials
• Provide support to other series productions as needed
• Work with production management to ensure invoices are paid
• Input appropriate documents for contracts and deals
• Coordinate brainstorms, screenings, team-building, and various other departmental events
• Help to recruit, train, and oversee department interns
• Other tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• B.A./ B.S. Degree or equivalent experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent MS Office skills
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience using Frame.io or other similar collaboration platforms
Other:
• The capacity to adapt to change and confidently respond to challenge
• Proactive team player, able to spot inefficiencies and propose effective solutions (creative problem-solving skills)
• A strong interest in children's media is a plus
• Video editing skills are a plus
