Job Title: Senior Manager, Business Development

Department: Corporate Partnerships
Reports To: Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships Sales & Business Development

Status: Exempt

Primary Objective: Responsible for generating new business revenue through successful prospecting, pipeline management, strong relationships, business acumen, objective-based selling, and negotiation. This role requires a positive attitude, a solution-oriented and collaborative mindset, the ability to be creative & adept at storytelling, and tackle the job with an innovative approach. This position will also assist the partnership activation team in strengthening existing relationships to ensure retention and long-term revenue growth.

Essential Functions:
• Develop and maximize new strategic business partnerships to drive profitable, long-term revenue growth while providing exceptional service to partners.
• Perform market analysis and competitive review per partner category.
• Initiate, schedule and conduct meetings to gain in-depth understanding of prospective partners' marketing and business objectives.
• Ensure partner-focused business objectives (ROO/ROI), asset alignment, analytics, and world class storytelling are incorporated into all new sales presentations.
• Create, present and negotiate customized sales proposals to deliver results for partners, while ensuring Mariners revenues and profitability.
• Strategic mid-term planning in order to build and maintain a pipeline of partnership opportunities, while maintaining accurate records and detailed sales activities in CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
• Successfully develop, maintain and grow partner and agency relationships to connect to market opportunities.
• Meet and exceed all personal and team sales goals.
• Keep abreast of marketing trends in sports and various marketplaces to be prepared for innovative recommendations for improvement.
• Work cross-functionally to align internally early in the process regarding proper partnership integration discussions, to create and implement opportunities that ensure both long-term partnerships and the drive for incremental revenues.
• Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
• Will perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• A minimum of five (5) or more years of sponsorship sales experience, (professional sports, entertainment, advertising, or consulting agency preferred).
• Brand experience preferred.
• Diverse market and work experience preferred.

• Demonstrated previous success and proficiency in closing partnership agreements with multiple elements including media, IP utilization, in-venue branding, onsite and community-focused activation, promotions and hospitality.

The anticipated range of base compensation for this role is $100,000-$110,000 annually, with commission potential.
