The E.W. Scripps is a premier media organization headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio with a political office in Washington DC. This office has a great opportunity for a Sr. Political Manager to join their team. This important role is responsible for selling commercial airtime and digital solutions to candidates as well as advocacy accounts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Sell OTT and digital solutions to direct accounts and advertising agencies specializing in, but not limited to, political and advocacy advertising.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Negotiate advertising rates with new and existing accounts to maximize share of revenue.
• Prepare and present marketing proposals utilizing qualitative and quantitative research.
• Manage company resources necessary to close proposed business and develop and conduct executive level presentations and/or demonstrations that may require interaction and coordination with marketing, ad operations and other company support staff.
• Establishes sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes for existing and new products.
• Maintains sales volume by tracking changing trends, economic indicators, competitors and supply and demand.
• Contributing to the development of existing and new products.
• Build relationships across divisions at Scripps in order to maximize revenue potential.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• BS/BA in related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of successful sales experience in political media sales.
• Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Digital and political sales expertise.
• Ability to develop a network of contacts.
• Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Ability to quickly develop trusted relationships with clients and deliver world-class customer service.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Access.
• Excellent attention to detail.
