Data Architect - Remote

Job Description

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Data Architect to join our Data, Insights and Analytics team. In this new role, you will design, implement, and maintain our data infrastructure to support our evolving business needs. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data is organized, secure, and accessible for analysis and reporting.

What You'll Do:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Create and manage data integration processes to consolidate data from various sources.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Design scalable data solutions that can accommodate growing data volumes.
• Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture and processes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data architects and team members.

What You'll Need:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
• 7+ years experience as a Data Architect, with a strong background in data modeling and database design

What You'll Bring:
• Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing
• Strong knowledge of data integration tools and ETL processes
• Familiarity with data security and privacy regulations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Hands on Experience with cloud-based data platforms., AWS, Azure, GCPis a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving data technologies
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) are a plus
