Motion Capture Editor/ Animator (Expression of Interest)

As a Motion Capture Editor/Animator, you will be responsible for working with a wide variety of film digi-double and creature assets. You will be responsible for taking the captured data through the entire post-processing workflow, to the final handoff of clean animated characters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Edit motion capture animation on biped assets
• Edit motion capture animation on a wide variety of biped and prop assets while striving to preserve the original intention of the performance with care and attention
• Receive and implement direction on applying poses, looping and blending of motions, prop asset interactions, finger animating, fixing floor contacts, intersections, and other requirements within the general scope of biped motion editing for Animation and Crowd VFX shot requirements
• Merge elements together to assemble complete working files of body and prop takes, and breakout final deliverables according to spec
• Apply constraints and performance adjustment techniques to accommodate motion-captured props into the motions
• Adapt to custom internal workflows of file handling and cross-departmental interaction
• Draw on experience and initiative, to work independently and diligently on assigned scenes
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum three (3) years of experience and expert knowledge of working with motion capture data in Motionbuilder, specifically retargeting, motion editing body animation for Games, Film, or TV
• Experience working with Autodesk, HumanIK (Control Rigs)
• Scripting skills (eg Python) desirable
• Pro-active, self-directed, and motivated
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
