Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Responsible for developing software applications in web programming languages supporting internal and external facing systems. The position includes working through all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and support of new and existing web-based applications.
• Analyze and troubleshoot medium-to-complex software problems and providing solutions to overcome those problems using the latest technologies.
• Communicate with business users and IT staff to gather and document requirements that meet desired user functionality and are consistent with agreed specifications.
• Create and maintain website technical documentation to assist with website maintenance and upgrades.
• Provide recommendations for application and system improvements.
• Develops UI design options based on customer needs and ease of use.
• Optimizes code and system performance on existing systems.
• Assist in planning of future system needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

• Familiarity with MS Office Desktop applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Familiarity with working in a Linux environment and using GNU tools.
• Familiarity with GIT and SVN preferred.
• Knowledge of LDAP preferred.
• Knowledge of Flash, SEO, Theme design preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, in both verbal and written form.
• Capable of working effectively under pressure, and to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under daily deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally.
• Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.
• Hold yourself and others accountable for a high level of performance and integrity.
• Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.
• Must be able to work in a challenging environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA's sole discretion.
• Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.
• Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems) and 3-4 years of relevant experience; or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Front End (UI) Development.
• Experience with PHP and/or Drupal.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and XML required.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND:
• Experience with technical documentation (requirements, test plans, use cases, technical specifications) a plus.
• Experience with Oracle Databases preferred.
• Experience with Weblogic preferred.
• Experience with RedHat preferred.
• Experience with Java, jQuery, AJAX and JSP preferred.
• Experience with MS Access preferred.
• Experience with technical documentation (i.e., requirements, test plans, use cases, technical specifications, etc.) preferred.
