The Overview:

R&C PMK is thrilled to be adding a New York City (greater area) based Director to join our Consumer & Lifestyle PR team. This position will focus on all aspects of communications for a range of high-profile fashion, beauty, footwear, and accessories clients, with a heavy emphasis on media relations as well as some influencer and social media engagement.

This role is ideal in PR for someone who is passionate about fashion and beauty and has strong media contacts in these categories. In being able to think ''outside of the box'', the Director will think of new and innovative angles to convey a message or tell our client's story. Taking pride in maintaining and growing press relationships, as well as having outstanding judgment when working with media, team members and client contacts is key for this role.

The Fine Print:
• Lead day-to-day program execution for multiple clients
• Develop communications strategies that drive earned attention for fashion, beauty, footwear, and accessories brands, in earned media outlets as well in the right ''conversations'' among consumers and influencers across social media
• Be accountable for developing strategic plans grounded in relevant trends and data, usually including preparation of proposed budget for execution; help ''sell-in'' plans
• Drive preparation of results reports, work back timelines, media materials, messaging documents and other relevant written items – all to be served up to your manager in client-ready format
• Lead junior team members, providing quality control, including mentorship/training
• Build and maintain positive relationships with media, clients, and partners
• Secure premier earned media placements and identify client-relevant visibility opportunities (e.g., panels, awards programs, editorial profiles, etc.) specifically in the fashion and beauty arena

The Needs:
• 7+ years of directly related public relations experience; agency experience is a requirement
• Experience developing unique PR tactics that include influencer programming, event activations and on-brand partnerships; special event experience to include planning, production oversight pitching, on-site leadership, red carpet, etc.
• Success fostering and maintaining client relationships, including balancing multiple projects at once.
• Experience leading project execution that delivers on desired results and within approved budget
• Confident staffing client calls/meetings and supporting account leadership in overall account management
• Comfortable working on integrated pieces of business, serving as a lead ''go to'' for PR POV
• Outstanding communication skills – strong presenter, excellent writer, AP Style proficient
• Excellent in being strategic and creative in story and program concept development and press outreach
• Solid grasp of the editorial calendar, current events, fashion and beauty industries, seasonal trends, and industry events
• Ability to elevate client profiles and brand visibility through media placements, strategic introductions, events/organizations and affiliations
