Your New Role…

We are looking to add a talented Lighting Artist to our team. By working as a lighting artist at Rocksteady you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of lighting scenarios where you will be able to showcase and develop your creativity, applying your talent into games that will be played by millions of people.

You will enjoy a great deal of creative ownership over what you do and have a direct impact on the visuals of the game instead of being just a cog in the wheel. We are a small team and that means your contribution will be huge.

The role is permanent and hybrid or remote working options are possible

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Creating high quality artistic and functional lighting for environments, cinematics and characters which fulfils both art and design requirements
• Working with the Lead Lighting Artist to realize the project's artistic vision
• Working with Designers, Artists, Technical Artists and Programmers to ensure their lighting needs are met
• Ensuring any lighting content created is within established budgets. Ability to optimize it without a loss in quality, keeping in mind the technical requirements and different platforms' limitations

Qualifications & Experience…
• Professional experience as a dedicated lighting artist, having completed at least one full production cycle for a shipped title
• Able to comfortably work with both artistic hand placed lighting as well as with more technical and systemic approaches
• Experience with PBR shading in current gen games. Must know how light and materials behave in the real world and how this applies in game
• Strong knowledge of lighting, colour theory and image composition proven with a strong portfolio
• Strong Unreal editor knowledge
• Keen on keeping up to date with games' cutting-edge techniques preferred
• Experience with Unreal Engine's blueprints and technical side of lighting preferred
• Experience with 3dsmax and Photoshop preferred
• Keen understanding of cinematography and how to best implement lighting for Cinematic scenes preferred
• A photographic eye and mind-set to be able to correctly interpret exposure and lighting values in game preferred
