Your Mission

As a Lead Graphics Engineer you will be leading the Raven graphics team in optimizing, enhancing, and developing new rendering systems on top of the foundation of Call of Duty's AAA engine technology. This is a great opportunity to be the leader of a passionate team that defines and shapes our graphics technology and puts our upcoming Call of Duty titles on the visual cutting-edge.

You will be managing a talented team of Graphics engineers, as well as leading the rendering technology efforts that support the incredible visuals Raven Software and the other Call of Duty studios strive for. Team management includes technical direction, task assignment, mentoring, performance reviews, regular communication, goal setting, career growth, and team building. You will represent Raven and its technical needs amongst the broader domain of graphics engineering within the Call of Duty studios.

Qualified candidates should have a background in graphics engine development and related subsystems. This includes fluency with modern graphics techniques, GPUs, graphics APIs, shaders, multi-threading, memory management, performance, and optimizations.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Lead a team of 4 to 5 graphics engineers
• Develop, modify, optimize, and debug rendering engine systems
• Deploy, evaluate performance, and test software on all supported platforms
• Communicate features and development with production, engineering, design, and art teams
• Participate in the performance and code review process
• Contribute to the design and roadmap of industry-leading AAA graphics engine technology
• Collaboration and co-development with other engineering and art teams
• Participate in the Call of Duty cross-studio engineering Graphics Domain
• Report to the Engineering Director

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or Math related field
• Experience mentoring or managing an engineering team
• 8+ years of experience working in the game industry or related field
• Experience developing and optimizing graphics systems
• Understanding of computer architecture, GPUs, multithreading, and memory systems
• Strong programming background in C/C++
• Experience writing shaders (HLSL or equivalent)
• Development experience with a current generation platform (console, PC, and/or mobile)
• Familiarity with modern graphics APIs (PS4/PS5, Direct3D, Vulkan, etc.)
• Proven ability to collaborate, coordinate, communicate and support other team members
• Solid debugging and profiling skills on both the CPU and GPU
• Creative, motivated, focused, passionate, results-oriented
• Demonstrated ability to write efficient, readable, and reliable code
• Passion for games and graphics technology

Extra Points:
• Demonstrated work with modern consoles, profilers, and toolchains
• Familiarity with physically based rendering/lighting and/or raytracing
• Background in collaborating and iterating with artists on graphics features
• Strong background in math
• Experience with GPU Compute

In the US, the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all US locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role's range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
