Job Description
Video Designer - Pure FlixReporting directly to the Director of Creative, the Video Designer works with the rest of the creative team to plan, film, and edit video content according to creative briefs. The Video Designer's responsibilities include ensuring that the necessary filming equipment is available for use, assembling recorded film and providing video footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and creating finished,broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the project leader. To ensure success as a Video Designer, you should have expert knowledge of modern video editing techniques, be able to visualize directorial concepts, and work according to a strict time schedule.
Responsibilities include:
• Participates actively in Creative Team on brainstorming sessions and creative boards to help curate ideas for different goals and objectives set for marketing and operations.
• Provides up-to-date knowledge about editing software such as Premiere
or Final Cut Pro including new techniques.
• Film videos on set or on location for purposes of marketing
including branded videos, testimonials, and/or EPK/BTS content.
• Responsible for planning the shoot with the creative team, reviewing raw material to determine shot list ,maintaining continuity while moving shots according to scene value, and setting schedules for all participants involved.
• Ensuring equipment is maintained and stored properly, including the responsibility of transporting equipment to and from locations as needed.
• Responsible for all post-production including exporting and converting
footage, editing the footage, managing file locations, and backing up assets to servers with the operation team's assistance.
• Manipulate film and video footage using modern editing techniques to
create assets based on the goal of the project assigned in support of the coordinating marketing and operations teams.
• Editing footage by trimming, inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects.
• Ensuring the project follows a logical sequence of events and manages all assets involved in projects from start to finish.
• Consulting with the Creative Director and Marketing Team throughout each project to ensure brand standards are implemented. Creating the final asset variations for external publishing based on the goals of the project.
• Serving as the liaison between the creative process and the
channel leads to establishing expectations, providing status updates, receiving approvals through the creation process, handing off project deliverables, and providing field feedback.
• Work on strict timelines to ensure assets are created and provided to the
needed channels within the allotted timeframes.
Qualifications:
• Experience in Film, Cinematography, Video Design or related field.
• Editing and editing software, including Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media
Composer, Lightworks, and Premiere.
• Creative and artistic skills, proven within a portfolio which must be provided.
• Proficiency with camera equipment - On-set camera work, filming, producing, and managing sets.
• Leadership experience within a team-based work setting, non-freelance based
