Fairchild Media Group: Deputy Editor

Job Description

Fairchild Media Group, publisher of Women's Wear Daily, Footwear News, Beauty Inc and Sourcing Journal, is seeking a Deputy Editor to work closely with the Chief Content Officer and Editors in Chief to help coordinate editorial coverage across all of its titles as well as manage and work with key staff. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:
• Helping to coordinate coverage of key news moments and events across WWD, FN, Beauty Inc and SJ, WWD Weekend, print issues and special sections
• Helping to edit and publish content for WWD and WWD Weekend
• Helping to amplify editorial coverage across trending news, social media and video, as well as work with ecomm
• Strategize for best content across trending, social, ecomm and video to maximize reach of the various publications
• Working with the EICs and Chief Content Officers on story ideation for both B2B and B2C content
• Liaise with business operations on deadlines and ideas for special sections and live events
• Work with staff on best SEO practices and content
• Help generate ideas and speakers for Fairchild Live events and attend industry events as needed
Requirements:
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities
• Experience working with editorial, sales, creative and marketing teams
• Excellent project management
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem solve
• Strategic and analytical thinker with excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Flexible, self-motivated individual with an appetite to work in an entrepreneurial environment
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multitask
Typical wage range: $160k - $175k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
