Overview:

The Data & Marketing Group plays a central role in the Paramount Streaming Group, responsible for the Consumer & Growth Marketing, Data & Insights and Business Operations for Pluto TV & Paramount+ at the cornerstone of growth across the free and pay streaming markets.

Pluto TV is the leading free streaming television service in America, delivering 250+ live and original channels and thousands of on-demand movies in partnership with major TV networks, movie studios, publishers, and digital media companies. Pluto TV is available on web and connected TV streaming devices and millions of viewers tune in each month to watch premium news, TV shows, movies, sports, lifestyle, and trending digital series.

The Director of Media Strategy & Optimization will report into the VP of Media & Acquisition and plays a crucial role in demonstrating data to drive the marketing strategy, optimize marketing campaigns, and measure the impact of marketing initiatives for our free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service. This position requires a deep understanding of marketing metrics, strong analytical skills, and the technical expertise to apply data from analytics tools and systems. The Director of Media Strategy & Optimization is strategically minded and responsible for delivering actionable insights to inform media spend attribution and optimization, as well as to guide marketing decisions and contribute to the company's overall success.

They will be a critical cross-functional partner to Business Intelligence, Data Product as well as our media agencies to ensure that the data can be successfully operationalized and implemented by the Media team. It is increasingly important as we launch our new Media Mix Model and incrementally testing protocols, to ensure those systems and investments are being accurately applied and used to improve ROAS and overall marketing efficiency.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement the marketing and media strategy and optimization aligned with the company's goals
• Collaborate with other departments such as Business Intelligence & Analytics, Product Management, and media agencies and partners to capture applicable data and insights
• Partner with Business Intelligence & Analytics to develop measurement plans for campaigns defining performance framework and measures of success
• Lead all aspects of Learning Agenda and Test & Learn methodology and reporting with media agencies and partners
• Conduct in-depth analysis of marketing performance data to identify trends, opportunities/areas for improvement and communicate performance and insights to senior management and how they are driving OKRs
• Work with the marketing team to optimize campaigns by providing data-driven recommendations on targeting, creative, and budget allocation. Use A/B testing and multivariate testing to improve campaign efficiency
• Analyze customer data to gain insights into customer behavior, preferences, and demographics. Identify segments and personas to tailor marketing efforts effectively
• Work with BI and media agencies/partners to understand the contribution of each marketing channel to conversions and ROI
• Provide data-driven insights for marketing budget allocation and forecasting. Ensure the optimization of marketing spend based on performance data and campaign goals
• Partner across the org to ensure data quality, compliance, and security in accordance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR)
• Experience with marketing analytics tools, platforms, and technologies and ability to improve their features, as well as assess and adopt new tools as needed

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field, preferred
• 8+ years' experience in marketing science and/or media analytics function, with 5+ years in a leadership role
• Data analysis tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and marketing automation systems

Additional Qualifications:
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data sets
• Experience using media mix modeling, statistical modeling, and data visualization
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey analytical insights to non-technical collaborators
• Experience with demonstrating data visualization tools such as Tableau
• Working with a Mobile Measurement Platform such as Kochava or AppsFlyer is preferred
• Familiarity with marketing technologies, customer segmentation, and digital marketing channels
• Knowledge of relevant data protection and privacy regulations
• Leadership and team management skills
• Strong project organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $139,500.00 - 180,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
