PixelOpus, creator of the award-winning action-adventure PS4 game Concrete Genie, is seeking outstanding talent to join our passionate and creative family in crafting an exciting new PlayStation 5 title in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation.

PixelOpus is one of 18 Global Game Development Studios within the PlayStation Studios family. Located at PlayStation's HQ in San Mateo, CA, this unique innovative studio is looking for a VFX artist to create, prototype and implement beautiful and dynamic in-game visual effects.

Responsibilities
• Works with Leads and Art Director to maintain the VFX style in line with the visual design for the project.
• As part of a team of developers, owns the development, implementation and maintenance of real-time particle effects.
• Works closely with artists, designers and engineers to craft visually compelling environmental, character and prop effects.
• Diagnoses, optimizes and troubleshoots visual effects for both quality and performance
• Works with VFX Lead and project management on planning, risk assessment and scoping

Job Requirements
• VFX artist with at least 3+ years in the games or film/tv industry with VFX artist credit on at least one shipped game title.
• Strong reel or portfolio demonstrating proficiency in creating amazing VFX for games, film/tv, or a combination of both.
• Strong traditional painting skills, ability to combine hand-crafted art sensibility with technical skills in creating unique VFX.
• Extensive production experience with Unreal Engine (Niagara, materials and blueprint authoring)
• Strong technical proficiency in VFX content creation tools such as Houdini/Fume FX/Maya fluids etc.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritization, ensuring work is progressing according to schedules and projects goals.
• Able to maintain a balance between visual quality and technical requirements for real-time VFX.
• Strong understanding of innovative real-time VFX techniques and pipeline
• Actively seeks feedback to improve work while also providing guidance and feedback to peers.
• Positive collaborative ability and a desire to bring new ideas to the team.
