Job Description
Department overview:
The PlayStation Partners Platform is a suite of digital tools used by game creators to publish their games to the PlayStation store and discs. We're a team of professional designers, writers and researchers all working to make our platform the most welcoming, intuitive and well-supported place for game publishing.
Role overview:
Join the Partners UX Design team and play a key role in crafting the future of game development and publishing, reaching thousands of users worldwide.
In this role, you'll sit in a cross-functional product development team alongside several other UX professionals, delivering major enhancements to game developer tools.
This is a permanent role in a remote and hybrid friendly team, typically at home 3-4 days each week, and in our central London office (near Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street stations), 1-2 days.
Day-to-day:
Spend time crafting exceptional design solutions, from early conceptual stages through to product releases and updates. Your designs will be well-considered, and demonstrate:
• Deep understanding of user needs and priorities - including accessibility needs.
• User flows that fit naturally with how people work, including good IA and navigation
• Clear communication of function and intended use through navigation, layout and language.
• Highly intuitive and usable user interfaces, with good component selection and design.
Our designers work in an open and collaborative fashion, through sketches, service blueprints and Figma prototypes. You'll work closely with developers and product managers to iterate designs and bring the best into production, balancing technical feasibility and product quality.
You'll seek and act on design feedback from users and colleagues, advocating in meetings for a user-centric, evidence-led approach. When sharing your designs you'll explain rationale clearly, inviting input from others and ensuring teams can easily understand how the design has evolved over multiple iterations.
As the newest member of our design team in London, you'll also support (and receive help from) your UX design colleagues, collaborating on ambitious, UX team-led initiatives to advance how design happens at PlayStation. For example, making impactful contributions to our design system, heuristics, user archetypes and service blueprints.
Who we're looking for:
• 3+ years of commercial experience as an UX/Digital Product Designer, with experience working on Enterprise /B2B software products.
• Practical experience working through the entire design process, from Discovery and product definition, to detailed production and launch.
• Strong core UX design skills, with experience crafting IAs, user flows, screen layouts and new UI components. Experience working with design systems is a plus.
• A solid understanding of web design patterns, standards and widely recognised approaches in the design industry.
• Confidence working with developers, product managers, user researchers and business analysts - and advocating for UX design in a product team.
• Some experience in Service Design, or mapping techniques.
• Experience getting involved in User Research and Usability Tests.
• Superb communication, with the ability to present design work - and explain a user-centric design approach - with confidence and clarity.
• A portfolio or presentation showcasing your work and design process.
Benefits:
• Discretionary bonus opportunity
• Hybrid Working (within Flexmodes)
• Private Medical Insurance
• Dental Scheme
• 25 days holiday per year
• On Site Gym
• Subsidised Café
• Free soft drinks
• On site bar
