Overview

We are searching for a highly-skilled and self-motivated Principal Software Engineer to join our expanding global team. As a key member of
one of the PlayStation Studios Central Tech t eam s , you will work on two critical internal web applications: the Product Data Catalog ( P DC at ) and the Music Asset Management System (Music dB ).

PDCat serves as the single source of truth about PlayStation Studios' game titles. It is used by game producers, financial analysts, compliance and legal teams, release managers, and many more.

Music dB is a repository of information concerning the music assets used in our games. It streamlines collaboration, helps with upholding legal compliance, and enhances the overall audio experience of video games.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of these applications, both on the backend (Java, Spring Boot) and front-end (JavaScript, ExtJS ). Additionally, you will collaborate and engage with different groups within PlayStation Studios to gather requirements and ensure the continued success of both projects.

Main Responsibilities
• Design, develop and test new features for web applications.
• Develop internal RESTful APIs and integrate them with remote APIs
• Collaborate with the internal team and stakeholders on functional requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing software.

Requirements
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development with a focus on Java and JavaScript.
• Proven experience leading a project and effectively interacting with users to gather requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of Java and extensive experience with Spring Boot are necessary.
• Experience with JavaScript front-end frameworks and libraries.
• Proficient with SQL database design, implementation and optimization.
• Experience with Java ORMs (e.g. Hibernate Envers).
• Experience with Docker and a solid understanding of containerization principles.
• Advanced proficiency with Linux.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools such as Jira.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a globally distributed team.
• Nice to have experience with the Sencha ExtJS framework.
