Department overview:

This role sits within the Product Comms team at Sony Interactive Entertainment. We're part of SIE's Platform & Data Strategy (PDS) division, which is responsible for the creation, development, and delivery of new and changed PlayStation hardware, network, service, system, and application products. Product Comms supports these outcomes; we craft accurate, engaging and timely materials & internal events for a broad, global business audience within SIE – showcasing the product specifications, outcomes and operational plans relating to new (or changed) PlayStation products to aid successful Go-to-Market.

Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Product Comms team as a Snr Product Comms Manager. As an essential member of the team, you will be responsible for our delivery and project processes, ensuring coordination with our diverse set of partners and their plans. You will bring organisation, transparency and process to our team, and through your contribution, you will play a vital role enabling SIE's exciting future!

What you'll be doing:
• Planning and expanding the portfolio of Product Comms projects, determining our roadmap, resource plan and funnelling projects to successful kick-off.
• Champion and optimise existing processes, while defining and implementing new processes to support the team's growth and continued efficiency.
• Lead the alignment of Product Comms portfolio to the needs and plans of our main partners, including product teams, PMO and business teams.
• Provide support for the delivery of Comms projects, potentially including project management, info gathering and analysis, creative writing, review execution, and publication.
• Play a leading role in the planning, management, and delivery of internal Comms events, both virtual and in-person.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to other projects outside of the Product Comms team, as required.

Candidate requirements:
• Relevant and varied experience in a program management OR comms/analytical-function leadership role, ideally across multiple settings (e.g., departments/companies/industries).
• Experience with complex and cross-functional process design, including consultation, implementation and monitoring
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (particularly Teams, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint), and confluence/JIRA.

Desirable:
• Comms role experience (external or internal), particularly copy writing/editing, and source material research and analysis.
• Working understanding of the software development lifecycle, and Agile/SAFe principles, or experience within a product development function.
• Events management experience.
• A genuine interest in the games industry is desirable (plus strategic understanding and experience), but not essential for this role.
• Project management qualifications (E.g., Agile, Prince2).
• Qualifications/working knowledge of minimum one project management tool (DESIRABLE: Wrike, MS Project/Office Timeline).
• Written and spoken Japanese would be beneficial, but not essential.

Note that international travel may be required, up to 2-4 times a year. This is a London-based role, with office attendance currently expected minimum 1 day per week.
