Summary
We're seeking a leader in Data Security to join our Security Engineering team at SIE! You'll be joining a team of engineers who are unified in their mission to make PlayStation the best and most secure gaming platform. In this role you'll have a pivotal part in developing and implementing innovative solutions that safeguard data across the Sony Interactive Entertainment enterprise, Playstation Studios, and Playstation platform. You will align data security operations with policies and requirements, drive strategic progress on solutions implemented, and mentor multi-functional teams to build resilience against evolving cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement solutions for maintaining a data security posture that aligns to compliance and risk management objectives.
• Operationalize industry-leading and cloud-native tools to perform data inventory, auditing, and continuous monitoring.
• Review and strengthen solutions supporting secrets management, encryption, and data protection access controls.
• Conduct threat modeling, build and improve tooling for detection & prevention of suspicious and unauthorized data-access patterns.
• Support regulatory and internal compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI)
• Partner with asset and service owners to remediate data security risks.
• Train and mentor development and operations teams on data security standard methodologies.
• Be in the known and stay informed on emerging technologies, recommend improvements to our data security architecture.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (5-7+ years).
• Experience with cloud-based environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• In-depth of understanding in security principles (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, layers of security, least privilege).
• Experience implementing data classification & labeling, mapping policy to access controls and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with encryption technologies (KMS & HSM solutions), secrets management (PKI), and Data Loss/Leak Prevention (DLP).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaborative approach with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Experience
• Familiar with and use of IaC tooling such Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Knowledgable on data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, as well as BI tools like Domo, Power BI, and Tableau.
• Experience with security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) platforms.
• Proficient in Python and other scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, CIS.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$172,100 - $258,100 USD
