Why PlayStation?

We are seeking a motivated Software Engineering Manager to handle the management duties of a Software Engineering team developing common telemetry libraries used by engineering teams across all PlayStation platforms, including the PlayStation 5 console, web, and mobile. You will be responsible for creating a productive engineering environment through the removal of barriers to your team's efficiency while also ensuring your team is growing their skillsets.

Responsibilities:
• Leading, mentoring, appropriately delegating, and empowering a hardworking team of engineers to deliver against strategic business outcomes
• Uphold the highest standards of performance for self and team
• Lead the delivery of common libraries targeting multiple projects across multiple platforms. Estimate, plan, and slice projects to frequently deliver value to production.
• Collaborate across business units and product teams spread over multiple timezones to develop and execute against the team's vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Act as a change agent, initiating appropriate changes to support continuous business improvement
• Comfort with proactively and independently working towards results in team environments.

Qualifications:
• Overall 6+ years of software development experience
• 1-2 years of people management experience
• Able to manage, mentor, and empower teams.
• Solid leadership skills and a passion for building, maintaining, and deploying core functionality that is consumed by other engineering teams.
• Strong communication, cross-group collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to balance priorities across multiple projects.
• Ability to inform and influence technical discussions and decisions.
• Experience with agile development practices emphasizing continuous improvement.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Prior experience with technologies such as JavaScript, C++, React, ReactNative, TypeScript, Jenkins, etc, is a strong plus.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$156,900 - $235,300 USD
