Role overview:

As part of the Future Technology Engineering team, you will deliver state of the art applications involving a wide range of products, services and platforms.

The daily role will involve updating our current worldwide Interactive Display Unit (IDU) backend applications, APIs, and infrastructure you will also be working with other engineers to create new front-end components for internal users. You will also be working in conjunction with the IDU client team who deliver the front end PlayStation application.

Additional responsibilities would include end-user support, monitoring of server reliability and scalability, organise security audits and statistical reports, as well as provide improvements to existing workflows and processes.

What you'll be doing:
• You will be involved in all stages of the development life cycle within an agile environment, from feature design and planning through to implementation, QA and launch
• Designing, implementing and delivering, responsive and intuitive, backend and front end server applications
• Working within a small team with additional designers, artists and programmers
• Researching and presenting proof-of-concepts using different software and hardware solutions

What we're looking for:

This is a mid-level to senior role, but open to new and recent graduates that can demonstrate the below skills with a portfolio/github repo. You'll need to be passionate about games, software and you'll need to have some (not all) of the following
• Strong proficiency in Golang and web technologies/services including (React, Typescript, JavaScript, SASS, Node.js)
• Experienced with creating web applications with portfolio of web UI
• Experienced with Linux based servers and containers (NginX and Kubernetes)
• Experienced with database technologies (MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
• Experienced with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experienced with implementing monitoring solutions (Grafana, cloudwatch)
• Experience with CI and testing methodology
• Familiarity with modern client-side web architectures and design principles
• Knowledge of security hardening services (topics include XSS, data classification, TLS)
• Strong technical background in maths or computer science, educated to at least degree level or with equivalent experience
• Able to review, debug and enhance already produced code
• Ability to work constructively as part of a larger team
• Ability to work proactively on your own
• Good presentation and communication skills

Nice to have
• Experience with Java, python, AMQP and protobuf
• Experience with bundling pipelines (Web pack or equivalent.)
• Experience with git/github source control
• Experience with Jenkins continuous integration systems
• Experience of video encoding
• Knowledge of PlayStation hardware and SDK
