The Dev Support Team at Insomniac Games is looking for an Engine Support Specialist to join us. As an Engine Support Specialist, you will be responsible for helping test and grow the tools and engine and works closely with both the Core and Production teams in helping find solutions to complex problems and allows for work to run smoothly during the production life cycle. Influences and helps enhance the overall process and workflows of development from every department, such as leading in communication between studio departments, usability research to enhance our tools, building automated processes to improve workflows. Responsibilities and Expectations:
• Identifies and articulates problem areas within engine, file bug reports as appropriate, and make recommendations to solve issues.
• Ensures all aspects of engine are functional, including editors, editor side processes, the game runtime, and build processes.
• Tests and ensures tools releases and patches are functional before releasing them to production.
• Creates and releases tools updates and patches to the studio.
• Creates and maintains test plans to appropriately cover all aspects of the engine.
• Handles support requests from production teams using the engine.
• Assists with other engine development tasks like changelist merging, scripting, usability research, or production outreach as appropriate.
• Works with other industry standard tools such as Maya 2018 and Houdini.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong understanding of Perforce and integration workflows
• Strong understanding and ability to read debug information working with Visual Studios
• Familiarity with Maya
• Understanding of Python and the ability to create scripts
• Familiarity with game engine tools
• Ability to use common workplace software like Microsoft Office products
