Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, Technology, Creative and Services - PlayStation Studios

SIE seeks a Director, Finance Planning & Analysis (''FP&A'') to join the team. You will be the business finance partner to the Head of Technology, Creative and Services for PlayStation Studios and other business leaders in the group. In this role, you will bring a strategic and value lens to the Technology, Creative and Services team, as well as a process-oriented approach to budgeting & forecasting, management reporting, and decision-support analytics. This opportunity will have you work collaboratively with regional finance teams, PlayStation Studios leadership and budget holders to drive improvement initiatives, bring a value perspective to the equation, and deliver budgets and overheads, quarterly and monthly forecasts, financial reporting, and strategic/ad-hoc cost-savings opportunities globally. This is a US-based role in either our San Mateo, CA or San Diego, CA locations reporting to PlayStation Studios' Head of Finance who is based out of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Primary responsibilities:

Budgeting & Planning
• Lead the depth and scale of global and local budget planning, forecasting, and spend tracking for the Technology, Creative and Services organization and teams
• Partner with Technology, Creative and Services leadership teams to advise and ensure appropriate resource and budget allocations
• Plan and lead all aspects of consolidated budgets and long-range plans
• Own the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
• Tackle strategic problems through showing the numbers
• Supervise team of analysts and business operation analysts, providing training and opportunity to up-skill the finance/operational team members as assigned

Improvement Initiatives
• Identify and lead improvement initiatives across the global teams
• Ensure alignment across studios and support group to ensure optimal outcome delivered

Strategic and Value
• Ensure top-down SIE and PlayStation Studios strategy is reflected through the Technology, Creative and Services organization
• Bring a value lens to decision making

Process & Framework Development
• Build detailed frameworks, workbooks and financial models to aid in planning and key decision-making meetings
• Partner with business leaders to provide input and mentorship on business issues and to provide financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the business
• Serve as finance lead for Technology, Creative and Services org, leading the process for development of the fiscal-year and mid-range planning goals

Tracking, Analysis, and Reporting
• Prepare and present monthly financial review package to management, including commenting on variances to plan, forecast and prior year
• Perform sensitivity, scenario and what-if analyses as well as analyzing the financial impact of changes in business and new business opportunities/acquisitions
• Research, analyze and synthesize data from different sources into business information as advised and by self-identification of business information needs

Leadership Responsibilities
• Providing leadership through collaboration with global and regional team leads and studios to ensure full alignment across the different organization
• Drive consistency and standardization of business performance analysis and financial reporting for monthly, quarterly and year end closing

Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, management, or finance required - CPA is preferred
• MBA or an advanced degree in business, management, or finance preferred

Required Knowledge:
• GAAP knowledge
• Knowledge of MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint as well as appropriate accounting and financial modeling software programs

Experience Required:
• At least 10 years of proven experience in corporate finance, financial modeling, business operations, or accounting in globally matrixed organizations
• Combined 4-8 years in large global sophisticated company with experience in FP&A and/or operational reporting
• Strong financial and operational planning skills
• Hands-on, creative approach to financial modeling and building business decision support tools
• Prior experience in playing a leadership role in large-scale change programs is a plus
• Prior experience in the video game, interactive media or entertainment industry is a strong plus

• Strong project management, quantitative modeling, and complex problem-solving skills, who can derive meaningful insights from data
• Strong communication skills, including effective writing and presentation skills, and ability to work with and influence senior-level business partners
