Job Description
As Nuke Pipeline TD, you work within our global pipeline team to build Nuke-related pipeline tools and participate in meetings with departments using Nuke to gather requirements and suggest solutions to help the teams work more efficiently
Requirements:
Key responsibilities
• Analyze and improve pipelines centered around Nuke.
• Participate in regular global department meetings to understand their workflows and suggest changes/updates to improve them.
• Provide support to the compositing and prep departments.
• Gather stakeholder requirements and leading roadmap topics.
• Support Nuke show TDs with building tools and setups for production.
• Work in sprints and finish your work items within the sprint's cadence.
• Be a team player and assist fellow team members, share knowledge and experience.
• Advise on workflows and work on roadmap for future 2D pipeline
• Write user and technical documentation
• Take part in code reviews. Submit your own and provide constructive feedback on other TDs code.
Minimum qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a Comp/Nuke TD in the VFX industry
• 5+ years of experience with Python
• Extensive knowledge of Nuke
• Extensive knowledge of color management and OCIO workflows
• Strong familiarity with Nuke's Python API and writing Gizmos
• Knowledge of the overall VFX pipeline
• Experience with Windows and Linux
• Familiarity with TCL
• Familiarity with source control tools such as Git
• Expert Python and software development skills. Experience in writing unit-tests and applying PEP8.
• Expert problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Able to communicate solutions to issues in a clear and concise manner.
• Able to convert concepts and workflows into process diagrams.
Desired qualifications
• UI development using PySide / PyQt
• Reasonably comfortable with Flow Production Tracking/ShotGrid and Deadline API
• Experience with sequence-based approaches to compositing
• Experience with and writing Python for RV
• Experience with Regular Expressions
• Experience with ML tools and workflows for Nuke
• Experience with BlinkScript
• Experience as a compositing artist
• Understanding of software architecture patterns and best practices
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation
• Understanding of the Windows and Linux operating systems and shell scripting
• Experience with utilizing generative AI for development tasks
• Experience with C++ and building third-party, open-source software
