As a Lead 3D Pipeline TD, you lead and support our 3D Pipeline TDs in building pipeline tools and solutions. The lead does this with the 3D Pipeline Supervisor, Heads of CG, and Heads of Department. You participate in meetings with departments to gather requirements and suggest solutions to help the teams work more efficiently. This requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, all while helping Pipeline TDs to design and build robust code and tools.

Requirements:

Key responsibilities:
• Lead a team of Pipeline TDs, responsible for developing, deploying, configuring and supporting the 3D pipeline.
• Help the TDs organize their tasks, within a SCRUM setup.
• Be a team player and assist fellow team members, share knowledge, and experience.
• Assist the Pipeline Supervisor in planning, designing and implementing a standardized pipeline around 3D workflows.
• Participate in bi-weekly global department meetings to understand their workflows and suggest changes/updates to improve them.
• Gather stakeholder requirements and lead road-map topics.
• Support show TDs with building tools and setups for production.
• Work in sprints and finish your work items within the sprint's cadence.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience within the VFX, animation or video-game industry.
• Expert Python and software development skills.
• Experience in writing unit-tests and applying PEP8.
• Contribution to large-scale production pipelines for animated feature, TV or VFX production.
• Experience with Pixar's Universal Scene Description.
• Experience with using Houdini and/or Maya.
• Expert problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Experience using Git or equivalent version control.
• Able to communicate solutions to issues in a clear and concise manner.
• Able to convert concepts and workflows into process diagrams.

Nice-to-have:
• Good understanding of the Windows and Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
• In-depth knowledge of Houdini and/or Maya and their APIs.
• Experience with using and extending Asset Management concepts and production databases (e.g. ShotGrid).
• Experience with continuous integration and understanding code-lifecycle, code-review and test-driven development.
• Experience with pipeline development in Unreal.
