Financial Controller (Europe)

We're excited to share a new, rare opportunity for UK based Financial Controller to lead our European finance team.

Responsibilities include:
• Lead the implementation of the best practice accounting controls, accounting policies and accounting standards in all our European offices, streamlining processes
• Provide the local management team with up to date, accurate and meaningful information on the operating efficiency and financial performance of the studios
• Lead the month end close process for all European offices
• Oversee the revenue recognition at month end
• Lead a weekly financial management and operational performance meeting to supply local management with key information to enable key business decisions to be made
• Balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of required cash flow statements
• Prepare monthly financial reporting pack with commentary variances
• Manage monthly rolling forecast after consultation with local management and Group FP&A Manager
• Interface with Group Controller to deliver month end reporting and complete consolidation procedures
• Coordinate the provision of regulatory to external auditors as required
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Overseeing the audit process and liaising with external personnel where required
• Manage a finance team - setting priorities and conducting performance reviews
• Lead Financial Project work as required by the Global Financial Controller
• Additional controller duties as necessary

Experience and Attributes:
• ACA or CIMA qualified
• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller
• Experience in vfx/media/creative space preferred
• Accounting experience with 3+ years as a controller
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and establish ways to appropriately share required financial information
• Ability to influence people at all levels
• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize in an environment with competing demands
• High levels of analytical and problem solving skills
• Commerciality
