Sales Manager, GPS (Future Openings)

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sales Manager, GPS (Future Openings) who will be responsible for the generation of new corporate partnership revenue for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, and Legends Entertainment District properties. In this role, you will collaborate with teams across the organization and build positive relationships with new and existing corporate partners to drive partnership development initiatives and exceed sales targets and quotas.
What You Will Do:
• Generate revenue through the sale and renewal of corporate partnership relationships.
• Develop strategic new business relationships locally, regionally, and nationally.
• Effectively qualify leads and maintain an active pipeline of potential business opportunities.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the partnership sales process – including but not limited to prospecting, needs analysis, proposal development and creation, negotiation, and contracting.
• Support the activation of all marketing partner programs in cooperation with members of the Activation staff.
• Continually manage and update individual sales pipeline through CRM platform to provide accurate, reliable information for sales and renewal forecasting for executive leadership
• Significant understanding of CRM and participation in sales tracking for multiple properties
• Assist and engage with prospects and partners during Suns/Mercury games and events.
• Collaborate with multiple departments in a positive and respectful manner.
• Work/host prospects and partners in GPS suite for Suns & Mercury games and concerts.
What We Need From Our Sales Manager, GPS (Future Openings):
• Experience in developing, pitching, and closing six and seven figure partnerships.
• Experience in presenting to Sr. Management Teams.
• Ability to quickly develop understanding of marketplace on both a local and national level.
• Strong relationships with senior level marketing executives at relevant marketing corporations located in or doing business in the market.
• Sufficient understanding of media/advertising buys to communicate value of sponsorship vs. pure media as a marketing solution.
• Strong interpersonal leadership abilities, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A creative salesperson with the ability to open doors and a demonstrated track record for closing innovative sponsorships and reaching targeted quotas.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to problem solve.
• Strong understanding of MS word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to multi-task and manage projects/tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Maintain positive attitude and adapt to fast paced working environment.
• High energy and a personality that thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• A leading work ethic and a competitive instinct to win.
Experience/ Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• College degree-BA/ BS or equivalent experience.
• Local candidate or strong familiarity of Phoenix market preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably with a professional sports team or league.
