We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Payroll Operations Manager with the Payroll Services Department. This position will be responsible for providing strategic and operational direction for all payroll functions within the Payroll Services Department. Oversee administrative, technical, financial and reporting functions, within company policies and requirements of all applicable Federal, State and Local laws, with respect to employee payroll and reporting. Perform functions necessary to maintain accurate employee records.

What Will You Do:
• Provides strategic and operational direction for all payroll functions
• Ensures all aspects of multi-cycle, multi-state payroll is processed accurately and timely
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies timely
• Identify areas and make recommendations to improve processes and create efficiencies within processes
• Oversee creation of documentation of payroll processes
• Oversee Pay Card program
• Payroll Spreadsheets and Imports
• Maintain data in applicable spreadsheets to track travel, transactions, and state apportionment for Players and Staff for all teams
• Maintain data for other payroll items such as per diems and other taxable fringe benefits within applicable spreadsheets and payroll systems
• Calculate and fund MLB Investment Plan for Players and eligible staff
• Create applicable data files for import during the regular payroll process
• Financial Reporting
• Prepare reports for Accounting/Finance
• Prepare reports for NBA, WNBA and MLB
• Assist in preparation of reports/documents as requested by Auditors
• Paid Time off Accruals
• Performs quarterly audit of each employee's paid time off balances
• Works with Payroll Specialist and Sr. HR Coordinator to resolve any discrepancies
• Review and make corrections to time off balances subsequent to annual rollover and throughout the year as needed
• Administer sick pay for PT staff in compliance with Prop 206
• Application Support
• Provide frontline support to employees and managers with the HRIS and Workforce Management applications.
• Assist with Training of staff on HRIS and Workforce Management applications
• Assist end users with full utilization of Payroll applications
• Provide support and assistance for projects as determined by VP, Payroll Services
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
What We Need From Our Manager:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
• Ability to function independently
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of employees' personal data and the Organization's financial data
• Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all staff levels
• Attention to detail, excellent communication and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Direct payroll activities of Payroll Specialists
• Develop and support training plan for Payroll Specialists
• Provide feedback to Payroll Specialists through one-on-one meetings and annual performance process
• Establish goals with each team member in alignment with Department and Organizational goals
Experience/ Education Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years Payroll, Accounting or similar financial experience preferred
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
• BS or BA preferred
• UKG (formerly UltiPro) and/or ABIMM experience a plus
