Senior Marketing Designer, Advertising and Creative Operations - Random House (Open to Remote)
Random House is seeking a Senior Designer to join our Advertising and Creative Operations department. This position requires strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work on a variety of projects in an intense and fast-paced environment. The Senior Designer will be responsible for managing simultaneous video projects in need of a quick turn and producing digital content to support marketing efforts across web, social, and email platforms. This individual will be savvy in producing great design in print, motion, and promotional items. This position will focus on the division's Harmony and Rodale as well as WaterBrook, Multnomah, and Convergent imprints. This is an amazing opportunity to join an innovative, integrated department and work with the renowned titles published by Random House. This is NOT a cover design position.
The Role:
• Conceptualize and design digital marketing assets for our books across all imprints, including but not limited to, Amazon A+ content, back of book ads, social media images, display ads, website assets, email creative, editing video trailers, animations, and book club kits, along with point-of-purchase displays, postcards, bookmarks, and other print collateral
• Have a strong interest in working on a wide variety of high-quality nonfiction books, four-color cookbooks, and fiction, spanning cooking, wellness, self-help, and Christianity
• Work closely with Art Directors in the ACO team and Marketers to refine designs, incorporate feedback, and route work to internal departments, maintaining a positive attitude and asking clarifying questions throughout the process to collaboratively create effective work
• Manage projects through Workfront, our project management / design request software
• Correspond on project threads as needed: trafficking creative, preparing and releasing files to stakeholders, and sending physical projects to print
• Remain current on art, design, and publishing trends to bring new ideas on aesthetics and working styles into our marketing creative ecosystem and keep our output state-of-the-art

The Essentials:
• Minimum of 5+ years experience as a Staff Designer in advertising preferred
• A passion for design and typography-as demonstrated by your portfolio
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft
Office Products.
• Working knowledge in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, and Adobe Premier - and the interest and ability to learn new systems and applications as needed
• Strong typography skills and knowledge of typesetting
• Experience with preparing files for press
• Proficient time-management and project-management skills: Timely follow-up skills with the marketing teams and other stakeholders, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a fast-paced, details-focused, and deadline-driven environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across email, direct messaging, and in meetings
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team when needed
• A goal-oriented team player who can cultivate productive working relationships
• Proficiency in creative problem solving, decision making, and time-management
• Proficiency using social media platforms as a marketing tool
• Nice to have: Experience in product photography / videography
The salary for this position is $70,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
