Senior Manager, Imprint Sales – PRHPS
In this role, the Senior Manager works as the primary International Sales contact for the Penguin Random House Publishing Services clients. This position functions as a liaison between sales and publishing to properly position titles, identify international specific distribution priorities, coordinate unique rights, pricing and format requirements, while maximizing export sales across all international sales channels. Report back to PRHPS clients and international sales teams on trends and performance.
The International Imprint Senior Sales Manager (PRHPS) has one direct report, International Imprint Associate Sales Manager (PRHPS) and collectively they will be represent PRH international sales at all PRHPS client sales, launch, marketing, editorial, and occasional author meetings.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with client publishers to set priorities for the channel, report on sales trends and provide account feedback.
• Create sales strategies in partnership with international sales regional sales teams and setting sales estimates for titles, including unique rights, pricing and format requirements on a country and regional basis.
• Delve into sales analytics and consumer insights to provide regional sales teams with sales strategies and opportunities for growth across our entire list of titles.
• Collaborate with all international imprint sales managers and international marketing to identify category opportunities that traverse publishing groups.
• Organizing and running recurring department meetings and sales conference.
• Creating sales reports for publishers and management to identify challenges and opportunities.
• Coordinate approvals for special international prices sales (pricing to market or matching competition).
Requirements:
• Minimum of 6 years of publishing or book retail experience; book publishing international sales and/or marketing experience is preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external colleagues across all levels of an organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time
• Strong knowledge of customer needs and market changes
• Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to think and problem solve creatively
• Proven ability to work well under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Comfort with content management & generation for the Specialty Retail website
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus
• Willingness to learn new tools such PowerBI, MS Teams, and other collaborative tools
