We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Associate Manager/Manager to join the Business Development/Strategic Market Development department in Penguin Random House! This group focuses on exploring new business models, building platforms, and developing programs to drive incremental business for our retail partners and support stronger marketplace connections to our consumers.
The Associate Manager/Manager will be working on business development, incremental programming, and new capabilities or services in ever-evolving retail environment while learning about and contributing to the future of retail. Specific responsibilities include:
• Manage weekly analytics and strategy at the account level to forecast sales, estimate inventory needs, and impact merchandising programs across multiple accounts
• Communicate learnings from sales and inventory data, proposing monthly placement and seasonal planning to accounts
• Develop process, systems, and methodology to scale models of new services and capabilities to support our retail partners
• Generate presentations that include market research and account specific book recommendations for sales leads
• Collaborate with teams from Sales, Operations, IT and Customer Service and their counterparts at retail accounts on specific business development projects, keeping all stakeholders informed
• Research and identify new retail opportunities
Please apply if you meet the following minimum requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of publishing sales or retail analytics experience, minimum of 5 years to be considered at the Manager level
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, etc.), Word, and PowerPoint
• Superb communication abilities, including presentation skills, and an ability to collaborate successfully in a cross- functional team
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to prioritize multiple projects
• Ability to work well under pressure, problem-solve, and think creatively
• Proven experience with retail account needs and knowledge of market changes
