As a Publishing Assistant, imagine a role that requires strong multitasking skills, creative flair and an eye for trends all while supporting a team that's at the center of the publishing process.

Reporting to both the Senior Manager and Manager of Publishing, you'll be swiftly immersed in the wonderful world of children's books, in a team that has been established for almost a decade and that's also seeing some incredible growth, they've doubled in size in the last 3 years! You'll be working with books for all ages, including series like Mad Libs and authors such as Eric Carle, Roald Dahl, Jacqueline Woodson and John Green, to name a few.

Previous teammates have seen success in many forms, some of them having come to the role with experience in customer service, the service industry, or other environments where they've been able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, working through interesting and challenging tasks. Since trends across children's entertainment and media often influence each other, we'd love for you to bring any knowledge or experience with YouTube, Gaming, Fan Forums, or other online spaces into the day to day role.

To give insight into your day to day, some of your responsibilities will have you:
• Run regular sales and competitive reports and share that information with various departments across the division, including sales, marketing and editorial teams
• Provide administrative support of publishing office and brand department which includes setting up and running (virtual) meetings, locating materials/jackets/etc., and overseeing divisional hospitality for new hires and authors/agents
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and/or Excel grids for meetings including business reviews, conferences and divisional meetings
• Provide routine support in a variety of areas, including licensing, brand management, title metadata and description
• Supports various divisional special projects and research requests like editorial directory update or industry trend deep-dive

We think you'll be successful if you can demonstrate:
• A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power Point, where you'll compile information from varying sources into decks and occasionally present
• Your ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects concurrently, and keep everyone informed of what's happening
• Strong organizational skills will also help with the first 2 points!
• An interest in the business side of publishing and analysis will absolutely help
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must – you'll need to collaborate with people at all levels across all positions and divisions
• Flexibility and an interest in new challenges and adaptable to changing needs
