Production Assistant, Random House

Random House Production seeks a Production Assistant to join its team. The Production Assistant will report to a Senior Director and provide support to the entire production team. This position provides an exciting opportunity to learn production in a fast-paced department always adapting to service the evolving publishing landscape. We're looking for a candidate who loves books and demonstrates an enthusiasm for learning the intricacies of how books are made .
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Under minimal supervision, handling the archiving and retrieving of digital assets, transmittal of materials for e-book production, and ordering and tracking the production of physical bound galleys
• Updating data in our SAP and FileMaker Pro databases; compiling and distributing various production reports
• Setting up meetings, taking notes, ordering office supplies, making travel arrangements, preparing T&E reports
• Providing general support and back up to the Production team
• Sending packages to vendors and freelancers, maintaining library of sample books and distributing sample books
Requirements:
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines under pressure
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Suite skills highly desirable
