National Accounts Manager - (Tri-State Area)

We are seeking a creative, results focused National Accounts Manager to join our Sales team and manage our DK business.

In this role, you will sell and manage all titles and promotions at Barnes and Noble and Books a Million, while focusing on sales growth for our DK Publishing list.

You will work towards annual sales targets and specific goals, manage day-to-day account work and correspondence, and provide feedback and market insights to our publisher.

Responsibilities for this role include:
• Preparing, researching, and presenting all relevant new titles, appropriate backlist titles, and special promotions to assigned accounts.
• Optimizing all initial, frontlist and backlist opportunities through in-store and on-line promotions.
• Building promotional plans across all children's formats and working to identify category opportunities, both in-store and online.
• Clearly demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the accounts and the lists being sold in varying formats.
• Attending regular meetings, including, but not limited to, imprint launch, strategy, sales conference.
• Creating weekly and monthly reports for publisher and accounts, ensuring accurate reporting, and analyzing sales trends.

Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements:
• Minimum 3 years direct selling experience.
• Creative thinker with the ability to apply this thinking to consumer focused retail strategies.
• Proven ability to build working relationships across all internal teams, departments and levels
• Strong analytical skills, ideally around sales trends and geographical metrics
• Excellent communication skills, including presenting
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a deadline driven environment

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000, where candidates who demonstrate significant prior experience working with National Accounts may be considered at the higher end of the range. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
