Job Description
The Penguin Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House, is seeking a Multicultural Marketing Manager. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to influence and design marketing plans that reach multicultural consumers inside and outside of traditional book spaces. The Multicultural Marketing Manager will be responsible for partnering with marketing and advertising departments to develop campaigns that reach the widest audiences, create marketing resources that make our teams more effective, and coordinate programming for a special task force of multicultural marketers across the company. This role, reporting to the Director of DEI Strategy, will be a part of a small yet mighty team of innovators working to make book publishing more inclusive and more wide reaching.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the Marketing, Ad/Promo, and Publicity departments to implement campaigns for a varied list of fiction and nonfiction titles and authors to attract multicultural readers.

2. Use research, cultural insights, and data analytics to influence marketing and advertising strategy that reach multicultural audiences.

3. Offer feedback and guidance with an eye on inclusion during campaign development, and act as an available resource to review plans, messaging, creative assets, and marketplace considerations.

4. Identify new tactics to ensure maximum multicultural permeation in all channels, including online and social via video, audio, and display; and stay abreast of the rapidly changing marketing environment.

5. Manage a database of social media influencers, potential partners, etc. for cross-promotional opportunities as appropriate in concert with the larger team.

6. Develop and share resources, including curation of the Multicultural Marketing Newsletter, that enable marketers to effectively reach all readers.

7. Coordinate the Multicultural Marketing Task Force meetings, schedule monthly programming, and collaborate with the task force to amplify multicultural marketing efforts companywide.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience identifying and developing audiences
• Experience creating and executing marketing campaigns
• Experience using consumer and cultural insights in marketing strategies
• Knowledge of key marketing concepts and tools
• Knowledge of digital marketing analytics and data-driven marketing decision-making
• Ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence peers to achieve common goals
• Ability to work independently and with small teams
• Ability to provide clear feedback with confidence and professionalism
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
