Job Description
We are currently seeking a Marketing Assistant to join our team responsible for marketing Viking, Pamela Dorman Books, Penguin Books, Penguin Classics, Penguin Life and The Open Field imprints, which publish a range of fiction and nonfiction from bestselling and award-winning authors. Reporting to the SVP, Director of Marketing and Assistant Marketing Director, you will have the opportunity to oversee all aspects of marketing for assigned titles, collaborate across teams on imprint-wide campaigns and initiatives, and work closely with authors.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Coordinate agendas and materials for marketing meetings, communicate with in-house departments (editorial, publicity, sales, art department, etc.), and assist with department mailings.
• Contribute original content to the Viking, Penguin Books, and Penguin Classics social media platforms and assist with social media advertising.
• Maintain record keeping for assigned titles and sales reports.
• Assist with the development of marketing plans for assigned titles by observing timelines, creating original content and visuals, and promoting giveaway opportunities.
• Provide general administrative support to the SVP, Director of Marketing and Assistant Marketing Director by maintaining and scheduling calendar appointments, submitting expense reports, etc.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
• Strong understanding of social media platforms
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs, online marketing tools, and digital analytics a plus
