Job Description
Marketing Assistant, Random House, Dial Press, and Hogarth Books (Hybrid)

Marketing at Random House Publishing Group seeks a creative and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join the team on the Random House, Dial, and Hogarth list. Reporting to two VPs/Directors of Marketing. The Marketing Assistant will work closely with the team to deliver innovative campaigns, with the opportunity to interact with all departments. They will also play a key role in imprint social media strategy, content creation, growth, and execution.

The Random House imprint was founded in 1927 with a mission that was simple, humble, and beautifully open-ended: to publish ''a few books, on the side,  at random .'' Random House would go on to publish more than a few books on the side-becoming a cherished home to Maya Angelou, Truman Capote, Eudora Welty, William Faulkner, Edmund Morris, and many, many others-publishing authors who would win the Nobel Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, and the National Book Award. Today, Random House remains as dedicated as ever to a diverse and far-ranging list of fiction and nonfiction, one that is bound only by our commitment to the highest quality and the size of our authors' imaginations.

The Dial Press, an imprint of Random House, publishes books driven by the heart: emotionally affecting works of memoir, narrative nonfiction, and fiction that tell stories of self-revelation, help us connect with others, and offer fresh, intimate, and inspiring perspectives. We are also committed to amplifying the voices of women and LGBTQ+ and nonbinary storytellers and creating community through our publishing programs. Dial is the proud publisher of many New York Times bestselling and award-winning authors, including Glennon Doyle, Ann Napolitano, Kate Stayman-London, Allegra Goodman, Holly Whitaker, Melissa Urban, Elise Loehnen, Tara Stringfellow, Geena Rocero, Lamya H, and others.

Hogarth Books, an imprint of Random House, is named in honor of The Hogarth Press, founded in 1917 by Virginia and Leonard Woolf. Today's Hogarth publishes fiction and non-fiction by exceptional writers who are deeply engaged with the world, with an emphasis on new and international perspectives. Our authors have won and been finalists for most major literary prizes, including the Booker Prize, the Booker International Prize, the National Book Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award.

The Marketing Assistant should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about publishing, and enjoy reading broadly and often. In addition, you'll work with colleagues in other departments within the division, especially our Publishing Office, Publicity, Marketing Operations, and Editorial groups. The Assistant will be a detail-oriented self-starter, a strong written and verbal communicator, and an organized multitasker who is comfortable asking for help when needed and wants to be an active participant on a collaborative team. If you can manage the details of urgent tasks immediately but also remember to step back, consider the big picture, and adjust your strategy when needed, you'll assume greater marketing responsibilities over time.

This hybrid position has in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, mailings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
