The Berkley imprint at Penguin Random House seeks a Marketing Assistant to support the marketing department. Reporting to the Associate Marketing Director, the Marketing Assistant will provide administrative support and assist with creating marketing materials and campaigns for a wide array of commercial fiction. This is an ideal position for someone looking to begin a marketing career in publishing!

Berkley is an industry leader in publishing commercial and genre fiction. Our authors include Emily Henry, Grady Hendrix, Jasmine Guillory, Anissa Gray, Chanel Cleeton, Isabel Cañas, William Gibson, Genevieve Gornichec, Mia P. Manansala, Amanda Jayatissa, and Ashley Herring Blake.

The Marketing Assistant should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about publishing, and enjoy reading broadly and often. We seek an individual ready to champion Berkley's books from day one while working alongside a fun and fast-paced team. The Assistant should be a detail-orientated self-starter, a strong written and verbal communicator, and an organized multitasker. The Role:
• Providing administrative support to the marketing department including maintaining production grids and schedules, coordinating meetings, processing invoices, note-taking, circulating materials for approval, content gathering, and sending out mailings.
• Coordinating files on NetGalley and Edelweiss, including uploading files on both platforms, scheduling seasonal eblasts, providing statistics, and approving requests
• Updating seasonal and monthly budgets
• Helping to create promotional pieces and other sales and marketing materials as needed.
• Generating and posting social media content on various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• Communicating extensively with other internal departments.
• Assisting with title marketing as needed.
• Maintaining internal system data.
• Coordinating seasonal and monthly promotions, including but not limited to sale meetings; consumer outreach; and email marketing programs

The Essentials:
• Prior office or related experience
• Exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and juggle tasks, from multiple points of contact
• Familiarity with office-based programs, e.g. Microsoft Word or Google docs or Pages
• Knowledge and experience working in various social media platforms a plus
• Knowledge of Photoshop or Canva a plus

The salary for this position is $48,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
