Associate, Sales (Hybrid)

Penguin Random House is seeking a Sales Associate to support the team responsible for selling Tiger Tales books to Mass Merchandise accounts, including Target, Walmart, and Readerlink. Reporting to the VP, Sales Director of Tiger Tales, this role will provide assistance to both the US and UK teams and offers an excellent opportunity to learn all about the children's book selling process in a fast-paced environment!

Specific responsibilities include:  
• Supporting Sales Director with Account specific needs
• Assisting with the preparation for sell-in appointments by and creating and maintaining item set-up forms, running reports, gathering, and preparing materials
• Preparing PowerPoint presentations for account previews
• Accessing Vendor Portals for data upload in preparation for sell-in appointments
• Attending and taking notes at weekly sales , marketing, and development meetings
• Running weekly and monthly sales reports, including point of sale, sell-in recaps, canceled orders, market share updates, and holiday promotions
• Creating and maintaining historical market share reports for major mass retailers including Target and Walmart
• Running and analyzing BookScan to identify trends that Tiger Tales should be chasing or to re-purpose backlist into new formats
• Populating Pub Goals and Estimates Reports
• Assisting with Account co-op requests and completing monthly co-op reports
• Working with metadata team to amplify search and discovery
• Working with the Art Worker and the Creative Teams in the UK to ensure that Launch and Sales Conference Materials are available
• Liaising daily with the UK Team

• Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on numbers and financials
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Prior office experience a plus

The position of sales associate at Random House Publishing Group is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, events, and general administrative assistance. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NY, NJ, & CT).

The salary for this position is $53,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
