Position Overview:

The PBS KIDS Marketing and Brand Engagement team is seeking a Senior Manager of Social Media who can spearhead and execute a social media strategy designed to engage and grow vibrant communities of parents, caregivers and teachers of young children. The right candidate will be equal parts writer, analyst, and social media expert, capable of collaborating with a diverse set of colleagues to reach the team's goals. The candidate will serve as a voice for the brand and a guiding force in driving discovery and awareness of PBS KIDS content, products, and initiatives among parents. The candidate must be passionate about PBS KIDS' mission, social media, and storytelling.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Position PBS KIDS as a brand that parents seek out to help their children learn and grow

• Develop and implement an audience engagement strategy that strives to listen, converse and support parents, responding to real life in real time and connecting to PBS KIDS content

• Spearhead content creation for social media platforms, designed to engage families, drive fan evangelism, and support our mission

• Lead social media team, including one direct report, and coordinate work of production team and content contributors to execute strategies and tactics

• Collaborate with teams across PBS to create and execute audience engagement-focused content and strategies, including grant-funded initiatives, special projects and more

• Set the tone, language, editorial positioning, and community guidelines for social media, and ensure the team adheres to these best practices

• Oversee the execution of campaigns and work with research to report and analyze performance

• Build relationships online and offline to spur brand ambassador endorsements and content partnerships

• Monitor analytics for key insights to evolve social media content and audience development

• Stay ahead of what's next in the evolving parent and digital media landscapes, including developments in platforms, strategy, and innovation

Requirements for success:
• 5+ years of leading successful social media strategy, content creation and curation experience, including data analysis and hands-on development and implementation of campaigns

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

• A strong understanding of key analytics and monitoring tools

• Natural community builder, who can serve as a voice for the brand to each key audience

• A goal-orientated strategist who is steadfast in defining objectives, measuring success, and iterating based on performance

• Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.
