Hiring Salary Range: $77,040.00 - 125,000.00

CBS MORNINGS is seeking a smart, creative, enterprising, and experienced Producer to join the team! The ideal candidate will have a firm command of journalistic standards, a keen attention to detail, and excellent newsgathering and storytelling skills. They must also be calm and efficient during breaking news and a collaborative member of a newsroom.

This person will primarily be responsible for producing live interview, chat and demo segments for a variety of topics including breaking news, high-profile interviews, politics, consumer, medical and cultural chats. The ideal candidate will have experience working in live news programming and can produce stories that are visually compelling. They must have strong news writing skills including writing sharp questions and identifying strong visual elements.

Responsibilities:
• Pitch, research, write, and produce news and entertainment live interview and chat segments for broadcast
• Select and gather visual elements including video, stills, graphics
• Prep elements and assist with editing segment production
• Write and produce segments (both live and tape)
• Coordinate with technical and operations staff

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of television news work experience
• Ability to deal with deadline pressure and react with thoughtful programming ideas and creative storytelling
• Strong editorial judgement
• Clear and concise writing
• Mastery of story structure, visual graphics and elements
• Exceptional research skills, tracking down data and visual material

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
