Job Description
Junior Video Editor-FTC 12 month
Is this the role for you?
As a Junior Video Editor for Paramount London-based Digital Team, your responsibilities will include the editing, post-production and delivery of video-led social media content for the company's Youth & Entertainment channels. At times, the role will also include assisting on shoots, by filming content on location or in the studio.
What will you be doing?
• A key member of the Digital Production team, producing a variety of social media content for the company's Youth & Entertainment channels including linear derivative content, original short-form series, daily news content, general entertainment formats and ad-hoc creative edits.
• Work hand-in-hand with brand, publishing and creative teams to bring ideas to life.
• Build a strong understanding of the editorial direction of all brands, including the voice, tone, and creative development of content.
• Work closely with Senior Producer/Editor to make sure you are working to your best ability, to deadline and meeting quotas.
• Edit content for all social platforms creatively, to a high standard and with exceptional attention to detail.
• Manage media and archiving of your footage and edits, and support this process across the department.
• Assist shooting, lighting and recording audio on location and in studio for in-house commissions and ad-hoc content, developing your skills in this area as required.
• Learn to problem solve issues that arise during production.
• Develop and maintain great relationships with key stakeholders across business that you interact with, including in-house production and studio teams.
What are we looking for?
• A skilled user of the Adobe CC Suite, specifically Premiere Pro, with experience editing and delivering to multiple technical specifications.
• Experienced editing everything from short social promos to original content series, taking rushes and building creative and engaging edits quickly.
• Some shooting experience preferred, with knowledge of a variety of cameras, lighting setups and audio solutions.
• You will be skilled in post-production – or keen to learn – with some knowledge of colour correcting your edits and delivering carefully to digital and linear specifications, to time and with phenomenal attention to detail.
• Interest and experience in pop culture.
• A proven knowledge of, and passion for, one or more of our areas of programming/content.
• An obsession with social media and your own thoughts on how to get the most out of content on core platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Stories, Snapchat and TikTok.
• Calm under pressure, comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoy problem solving.
• A creative problem solver who looks around the corner to anticipate issues before they arise.
• A passion for quality and obsession with detail.
• Project management and interpersonal skills required to handle multiple projects at once.
