Video Operations Engineer (Remote)

Paramount+, a direct-to-consumer digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service from ViacomCBS, combines live sports, breaking news, and a mountain of entertainment. Role Details:

We are seeking a Platform Operations engineer who will help drive our system's evolution! The role is an integral part of the Video Streaming & Operations team that will work with video tech engineers to automate, monitor and test products for various platforms like Desktop, OTT, Mobile. The candidate will be responsible for job processing monitoring automation, improvements to system dashboards and a wide range of internal tooling initiatives for several products

Your Day-to-Day:
• Work with video engineers to monitor Video Platform health and CMS for our video products.
• Assist with triage, diagnosis, and resolution of issues discovered across teams.
• Create artifacts and work with the team to build functional automated test suites.
• Monitor and support our video systems and field questions from publishers around video encoding.
• Help troubleshoot VOD and Live Playback issues after product releases.
• Contribute to system documentation / runbooks and maintain it.

Qualifications:

What you bring to the team:

You have:
• BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with Video On Demand publishing systems and troubleshooting publishing issues.
• 3+ years experience of software testing methodologies and automation tooling.
• Experience with scripting languages Bash/ PHP/ Go / Python
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple teams
• Must be self-motivated, strong technical problem-solving skills and desire to learn and automate things.

Nice to have:
• Experienced with video encoding and packaging systems.
• Understanding of systems and tools such as: CMS, Orchestrator, Video Encoding, Video Containers, Video Codecs/ Audio Codecs and layouts.
• Experience working with thePlatform MPX, New Relic, Grafana.
• Good understanding of server and cloud computing technologies from providers such as AWS, GCP
