Motion Designer (MTV and Comedy Central)

Is this the role for you?

The Mid-Weight Designer will create and produce a myriad of different types of design projects in their role. Motion design is at the forefront, and they will work on on-air promos, idents, digital ads, channel branding, franchise branding, on-screen graphics and presentation. They will also be involved in graphic design for static assets including key art and VOD assets. They will work in a design team reporting to the Art Director who leads on all things design within the department.

What will you be doing?
• The designer will contribute to the development and creation of motion design for promo graphics, idents, on-screen graphics and end boards across both brands.
• They will be required to maintain the design consistency of the brands in everything that they do.
• They will be asked to study style guides and make sure that all work is on brand and that all branding is applied in the accurate way.
• They will be asked to create work that is creatively excellent. Both brands require someone with the ability to work at the top of their game and bring bold and exciting vision to the design elements of every project they work on. As a team we will evolve the brands and push them forwards, always keeping them at the forefront of creative televisual branding and identity.
• They will keep an eye on the project's marketing objectives and have a responsibility to deliver work that is on brief.
• They will be up to date with the latest design and cultural trends. Understanding of the visual language of the audience. This is especially important with our youth facing brands.
• The ability to produce fresh and unexpected ideas.
• To recommend new technology and creative solutions.
• To work closely, support and help the producers to realise graphic solutions and add coherent graphic value to on air material.
• To create and deliver all graphics elements to deadline.
• To create and deliver all graphics elements within budget.
• Liaise closely with the TX link team to ensure accurate implementation of gfx.
• A good knowledge of the post-production environment will ensure the ability to work under considerable pressure in a fast paced and very creative department.
• A sound knowledge of our competitors, the social and digital landscape and the wider UK streaming landscape in general, are also important.

What are we looking for?
• Expert in AE, in Photoshop and Illustrator
• Proficiency in C4D would be considered a large bonus
• Excellent understanding of animation principles
• Excellent understanding of design principles including typography and layout
• Well-rounded experience in post-production techniques
• Experience in broadcast graphics, not essential if you have a strong reel
• Thorough understanding of social and digital landscape and its visual language
• Good knowledge of Paramount's digital brands and social landscape across the board
• Strong organisational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Highly creative
• Passionate about design
• Self-motivated
• Good team player
• Patient and good under pressure
