Job Classification: Exempt

City/State: Mesa, Arizona

The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a Full-Time People Operations Business Partner, Benefits & Baseball Operations. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, People Operations & Total Rewards. The People Operations Business Partner, Benefits & Baseball Operations is responsible for onboarding/offboarding employees, new hire/termination paperwork, benefits administration, and be the point of contact for People Operations related inquiries at the Arizona facilities. This position will assist the Senior Manager, People Operations & Total Rewards in the administration of benefits, including health and wellness plans, retirement plans, HRIS, employment and leave policies. As a newly created position in the Arizona office, the People Operations Business Partner, Benefits & Baseball Operations will have an opportunity to reinforce the company's culture and values through increased employee engagement and act as a liaison between the Arizona and Oakland offices.

Responsibilities:

Benefits
• Perform benefits administration including change reporting, auditing and approving invoices for payment, and claims resolution.
• Assist in the annual open enrollment process, ensuring that enrollment and administration are timely and accurate and in accordance with plan documents and regulations.
• Conduct employee benefit workshops and new hire orientations; educating all levels of employees regarding benefits and assisting them in making appropriate choices, all while providing exceptional service.
• Remain informed on all Federal and State regulatory, compliance, and legislative changes that may affect employee benefits; make recommendations to People Operations management for improvements
• Work closely with payroll regarding personnel changes, leave tracking and benefit eligibility
Onboarding and Offboarding
• Assist department managers in recruiting and creating/distributing offer letters
• Perform background checks
• Facilitate new hire paperwork and coordinate IT needs for new hires
• Facilitate offboarding process, including exit paperwork and work closely with Payroll to process final payments
• Process necessary transactions in the employee lifecycle, across various platforms and interfaces like ADP, Namely and other systems

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Minimum of 3 years of prior benefits administration experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of excellence in an administrative or clerical capacity
• Substantive experience in managing confidential information with a high degree of discretion and excellent judgment
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and business communication skills
• Demonstrable level of excellence with regards to administrative and personal organization skills, including strong attention to detail
• Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with ADP and Namely
