The NPR Training team is looking for a Project Coordinator to support NPR Training's core editorial training work and other staff development initiatives. You will work closely with the team's Project Manager, Director and trainers to support NPR's growing portfolio of editorial training internally and across the public media system.

We're looking for someone who can juggle multiple projects, work independently, and can work across multiple communications platforms. The work includes scheduling, event planning, coordinating with other departments, and supporting the team's trainers.

The Training team's Project Coordinator is someone with strong verbal and writing skills. The ideal candidate can demonstrate superb process and organizational abilities, can effectively solve a variety of problems with calm and sound judgment, and has a proven record of working well as part of a diverse team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing the team's internal editorial training schedule
• Scheduling newsroom editorial onboarding and intern editorial orientation
• Coordinating collaboration with key stakeholders, including training partners and public media stations
• Coordinating events such as brown bags, speakers, and workshops
• Managing team calendars and monitoring incoming training requests
• Maintaining training statistics and generating reports
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 3 years experience handling administrative duties, including scheduling and event planning

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

WORK LOCATION:

This is a hybrid permitted role. The employee will be required to be onsite at our Washington, DC office at least 10 days a year. The employee must also reside in an NPR supported location based on the number of onsite days they choose.

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Proficiency with key applications, including Microsoft Office suite, Google Office Suite, Slack & Zoom
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Familiarity with the values of diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with members of a team
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to travel when applicable

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Experience in a newsroom and/or non-profit environment
• Familiarity with project management
• Fluency in another language, especially Spanish
