Job Description
OVERVIEW
NPR is committed to covering the ongoing challenges and threats posed to society by viral lies and conspiracy theories. NPR's coverage of misinformation and disinformation includes election denial, climate denial, the overlap with extremism, the anti-vaccine movement, the business models underlying the spread of falsehoods and the role of social media. It is a topic that dovetails with other important areas of coverage including extremism, cybersecurity, voting and science and health reporting.

The duties will include story research, field production, audio production and helping project manage the team. Additionally, the associate producer will work with NPR's Visuals Teams to produce social media videos about disinformation. Some of those videos will be inspired by work created by other members of the disinformation team, but the associate producer will also have the opportunity to pitch and create their own videos as well.
This is a full-time position with a two-year duration.
This is also a union represented role covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with SAG-AFTRA.
