Nexstar Inc. is hiring a Syndication & Licensing Producer. We are seeking a self-motivated, tech-savvy, news junkie, who has an understanding of significant U.S. historical events. In this hybrid role you are involved in the editorial and business side of news. On the editorial side, you will be responsible for finding the best videos across Nexstar's 114+ news stations to share with our external syndication partners. The goal is to ensure it reaches the broadest possible audience through strong headline writing and video content selection. On the business side, you will be the liaison between customers and stations on video licensing requests.
The regular schedule is Monday through Friday. If big news breaks, you may need to work weekends.
Recent college graduates with digital, social media and broadcast news experience are highly encouraged to apply.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Navigate news station systems to retrieve video clips and scripts
• Strategically select news video content that will generate views on digital platforms
• Edit news videos to create clips more compelling to a wider audience
• Write eye-catching headlines and descriptions for news video content
• Maintain high journalistic and ethical standards while aggregating content
• Craft daily email promoting news video content available to digital partners
• Ensure that rights, embargos, and similar restrictions are followed
• Provide timely responses to potential customers inquiring about licensing news station video
• Qualify external licensing requests for Nexstar news stations
• Work as liaison between customers and stations to fill requests efficiently, clearly communicating about fees and agreements
• Ensure customer satisfaction in order to create returning clients
• Maintain positive relationships with news station leaders
• Work with legal team on licensing agreements
• Perform additional tasks as required
Qualifications & Skills
• Strong writer with AP Style experience
• Proficient in video editing software (preferably Premiere Pro) and standard office software
• At least 2 years of newsroom work experience (college may count)
• Experience with use of video platform Anvato is a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects with immediate and longer-term deadlines
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and as a member of a larger team
• Comfortable communicating with, taking input from and making requests of a wide range of people, in different cities, at various levels of seniority
• The ideal candidate is an exceptional collaborator with a proven ability to earn the respect and support of managers, peers, and customers alike
