Title: SVP, Platform Monetization & Strategy
Reports to: EVP, Platform Monetization & Strategy
Position Summary:
The SVP, Platform Monetization & Strategy is responsible for overseeing Nexstar's advertising inventory and the revenue management strategy for ad sales. The SVP will develop and implement linear, digital, and programmatic/advanced advertising monetization strategies. He/she will maximize revenue and serve clients needs through informed, data-driven decisions and strategic inventory analytics. Will manage revenue reporting, inventory, forecasting, and analytics.
Responsibilities Include:
• Will develop & implement Nexstar's platform monetization sales strategy
• Manage ad inventory, forecasting and analytics and accountable to deliver accurate reporting for linear, digital, audience, etc.
• Partnering with Sales, will ensure best in class, progressive and advanced media plans
• Manage yield management optimization through appropriate inventory utilization.
• Will create strategies to manage inventory at the portfolio level with proper allocation, maximizing yield
• Oversees analyses of pricing, media mix and inventory allocations and determination of most profitable uses of television, digital and other assets. Determines competitive advertising rate cards and approves deviations
• Consults on the proposal development process, supports the position of deals, shares negotiation strategies, and helps develop new packages.
• Ensures that sales proposals collectively and individually conform to and enhance approved strategies.
• Manage revenue reporting, providing a holistic view by product and sales channel
• Analyze revenue by advertiser, agency and channel and identify opportunities
• Analyze revenue on a local, national, political, linear, and digital level
• Manage new revenue modeling across the portfolio and sales channel
• Partnering with sales, will develop go to market strategies including target clients, pricing and audience targeting revenue models.
• Use data to assess company's revenue performance, identify risks, and help make strategic decisions.
• Will study overall advertising performance and leverage analytics, optimization tools, and in-house resources to continually optimize the advertising strategy.
• Understand and analyze both network and client data for engagement, retention, and monetization
• Seamlessly work across multiple channels as well as planning, delivering, and optimizing toward awareness and performance driven critical metrics
• Will take the lead championing new technology, creating seamless pitch to pay automation.
• Utilize technology (CRM, etc.) to make the most informed impactful and strategic decision making.
• Lead and manage a staff of professionals
About you:
• 15+ years' experience in advertising, media, and relevant sales management roles
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience developing plans rooted in analysis of customer and category segments, and competitive landscapes
• Extensive experience collaborating with sales planning team
• Experience guiding, directing, and motivating teams, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
• Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach/mentor to improve knowledge or skills
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with an emphasis on translating insights, product information, and data into client value
• Ability to perform well in highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment
• A change leader with experience guiding new teams to deliver revenue
• Strategic thinker, creative problem solver, resourceful
• Exceptional ability to develop and maintain cross-functional relationships
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work across the organization
• Must possess a high level of critical thinking and analytical skills
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (outside NYC)
Salary range: $200,000 - $350,000
