Job Description

The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, seeks a S taff W riter for its Changing America team , which writes news and feature stories about meaningful positive change in such vital areas as human rights, the environment, education , and health care. Familiarity with our core subject areas is a plus .

As part of the Changing America team, you will write stories in a demanding, fast-paced environment. You will take assignments throughout the day, research, report , submit stories for editing and post them in our content management system . You should be creative and resourceful in coming up with your own story ideas, and enthusiastic about taking editorial guidance. Stories will be a mix of quick-turn and enterprise pieces.

We are looking for candidates with professional journalism experience who are accustomed to tight deadlines. You should have good news judgment, strong research skills , a smart writing style , and be commit ted to factual accuracy.

The position is full-time with some nights and weekends.
