Job Description
NewsNation is hiring an experienced Senior Producer to help lead the nightly program 'On Balance with Leland Vittert.' This role is Chicago-based. The Senior Producer works with the EP and talent to drive the editorial/booking strategy and with show producers to build and organize daily rundowns and production. Candidates should be passionate about news, with a talent for crafting a tailored and unique approach to stories we care about.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with EP and show talent to build daily editorial vision
• Communicate editorial goals and show/segment construction to producing team in detail
• Supervise show segments, approving scripts and elements to optimize production and delivery
• Manage staff workload; coach and mentor younger staffers to improve performance
• Write and copy-edit as needed
• Build and maintain a futures calendar for editorial & event planning
• Collaborate across the network with reporters, teams and senior management
• Fill in for the Executive Producer when required

Requirements & Skills:
• 5+ years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital)
• Editorial capacity to build tailored vision and production plan for a perspective-driven show
• Superior writing and editing skills, with capacity to organize teams and collaborate effectively
• Track record of developing producer talent
• Familiarity with giving and receiving constructive criticism and feedback
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to pivot and prioritize
• Flexibility with hours, as the news cycle and deadlines warrant
• A bachelor's degree is preferred
